Abstract :
The project is aimed to design an effective system to control the speed of single phase inductions motor by using I.R.
By using I.R we can establish the wireless data transmission between any devices by using available I.R receivers. For this project we preferred 8 bit AT89C51 controller. To this controller we will interface I.R receiver by using digital I/O port and single phase induction motor. Transmitter is a I.R led and having matrix keypad. By pressing keys on I.R transmitter it transmit signals to receiver. According to the signals microcontroller generates PWM waves form. The induction motor cannot run directly. It needs TRAIC and MOC driver circuit. This driver circuit converts DC PWM to AC PWM.
The I.R remote (both transmitter and receiver) works on digital pulse frequency. I.R transmitter generates DC pulses and receiver reads the pulses and generates digital pulses. These I.R waves have very low frequency. The range of I.R waves 1mm to 750nm. We use T.V remote as a I.R remote.
This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. Unregulated 12V DC is used for relay. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Full wave bridge rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
